Arkville, NY Sunday October 2, 2011 $85 per person All Aboard!! Today we take a 2 hr train ride in a 1948 art-deco steam liner, The Rip Van Winkle, through the Majestic Catskills. LUNCH is served on china & linens in a beautiful mahogany-paneled, domed dining car. After our train ride, we’re off to visit the Blenheim-Gilboa Power Plant. The visitor center is housed in a 19th century dairy barn. It offers state-of-the-art exhibits and interactive displays showing how our power is made and how it is used. The Lansing Manor will end our day. It is an American Country Estate, was built in 1819 by John Lansing who was a delegate to the Constitutional Convention in 1787. |
